HOW TO GET THERE BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT
If you arrive in Riga international airport:
– By bus. Public bus station is in front of Riga International Airport main entrance. There is only one bus going from Airport to Riga city center. Tickets can be purchased from bus driver and cost 2 EUR.
– By taxi. Taxi is comfortable but more expensive way. Trip from Riga Airport to Riga city center can cost from 15 to 30 EUR depending on location.
If you arrive in Riga International train or bus station:
Riga international train station and bus station is right in the hearth of Riga city center and 5 minutes walk to the competition place.
Catering at the competition place:
Competition place will have a tents for participants to stay dry during the whole day. Personal belongings can be left in the tents and will be guarded by security. There will be water and tea available. All other food or drinks participant have to take with him.
Healthcare, insurance and medication:
All the participants are responsible for their own health condition. While still at home country participants should buy travel insurance covering competition in sport activities. Participant without insurance will not be allowed to participate.
If a participant is using any medication, it should be brought with him. You can only buy medication in Latvia with doctors prescribed receipt. There will be an ambulance assigned at the site of championship.
PSWC 2017 participant guests that are not among the official invited guests:
Any guests outside the participant list are not guaranteed to stay with participants in participant zone. The priority for the comfortable space is for participants. All other people coming together with participant will only be allowed to be at participant place if that will be enough comfortable in terms of space for other participants.
Money:
The currency of Latvia is EUR.
Most banks have Automated Teller Machines (ATMs), which are open 24 hours a day. An ATM card from your home bank may work in these machines. You will also find ATMs at locations other than banks, but do keep in mind that these ATMs will likewise charge a fee for use. You may wish to bring an internationally recognized credit card for personal shopping convenience.
In Latvia like in many countries, taxes are included into the price of services.
Electricity
All electricity in Latvia is 220 volts. If you bring electrical items such as laptop computers or cell phones that need to be charged, you may need plug adapters and/or transformers. Hotels usually do not provide adapters. You do not need to bring hair dryers or irons with you, as most hotels provide these items in the room or on request.
Water
Unless you are advised otherwise, tap water throughout the Latvia — in hotels, restaurants, office buildings, etc. — is always safe to drink.
WiFi
WiFi will not be available in competition place. Most of the restaurants and public places in Riga have a free WiFi access.
PSWC 2017 Live stream
Competitions will be streamed live on WSWCF official Facebook and Instagram pages on 24th of September starting from 12:00 Latvian time.
